Hreyfidýnamík í tíma og rúmi

Masterclass með Athanasiu Kanellopoulou er workshop þar sem áhersla er lögð kraft og hreyfidýnamík. Byggt á einstakri tækni, sviðsframkomu og listrænu samstarfi Athanasiu. Áhersla er lögð á að efla hæfni í spuna, bæði sem uppbyggilegt verkfæri og leið til að dýpka tækni dansarans, auka skilning á eiginleikum hreyfingar, finna næmni líkamans við tónlist. Með því að skapa sameiginlegan vettvang fyrir hópinn vinna þátttakendur að verkefnum sem örva sköpunargleði, einstaklingsbundna tjáningu og samvinnu. Í gegnum skipulagðan spuna og dansverkefni endurskilgreinir námskeiðið innri og ytri mörk og kannar skapandi rými tímans og hreyfingarinnar.

Athanasia Kanellopoulou er danshöfundur, dansari og kennari með aðsetur í Aþenu. Hún býr yfir víðtækri reynslu af samstarfi við virta danshöfunda og dansstofnanir um allan heim. Hún þróar sínar eigin aðferðir sem spanna allt frá kennslu til danshöfundarstarfs, kvikmyndagerðar, skrifa og samstarfs við listamenn úr ólíkum listgreinum. Hún er stofnandi þverfaglega vettvangsins og dansflokksins „Athanasia Kanellopoulou Performing Arts“, sem hefur hlotið stuðning og fjármögnun frá gríska menningarmálaráðuneytinu. Hún stundaði nám í klassískum dansi og samtímadansi í London (Rambert Contemporary Dance School) og New York (Martha Graham School) með styrkjum. Í rúmlega 18 ár hefur hún búið í Evrópu og unnið með þekktum danshöfundum og dansflokkum víðs vegar að úr heiminum. Má þar nefna Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch (þar sem hún ferðaðist um heiminn sem gestdansari), Les Ballets C de la B / Koen Augustijnen, Jasmin Vardimon Company, Gregor Zoellig / Stadttheater Osnabrück, Rafaelle Giovanola – Cocoondance, Alexandra Waierstall og marga aðra. Hún hefur samið rúmlega 25 dansverk sem hafa verið sýnd á hátíðum um allan heim, auk þess sem henni er reglulega boðið að kenna við ýmsar stofnanir víða um lönd. Hún býr nú í Aþenu og kennir spuna, danshöfundarfræði og dansverk (repertoire) við skóla grísku þjóðaróperunnar og við gríska þjóðardansskólann (KSOT).

Exploring movement dynamics in time and space

Athanasia Kanellopoulou’s masterclass is powerful, physical, and built on her strong technique, performance background, and passion for artistic exchange. The masterclass focus on strengthening improvisation skills—both as a structural tool and as a way to deepen each performer’s technique, understanding movement qualities, finding body musicality, and improving technical skills. By building a shared space for the group, participants work on specific tasks that encourage creativity, individuality, and teamwork. Through structured improvisations and choreographic material, the workshop redefines inner and external limits, exploring the creative space of time and movement.

Athanasia Kanellopoulou is an Athens based choreographer, dance performing artist and pedagogue, who owns a very rich history of collaborations, with acclaimed choreographers and Dance Institutions around the globe. She creates her own methods from teaching into choreographing, filming, writing and collaborating with various artists from different disciplines. She is the founder of the multi-disciplinary platform and project-based Company ‘’Athanasia Kanellopoulou Performing Arts’’, which has been supported and funded by The Hellenic Ministry of Culture. She has studied with a scholarship Classical and Contemporary Dance in London (Rambert Contemporary Dance School)and New York (Martha Graham School). Over 18 years she has lived in Europe and collaborated with prestigious Choreographers and Companies worldwide. Among others are: the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, where she toured worldwide with the company as a guest dancer, Les Ballets C de la B/ Koen Augustijnen,Jasmin Vardimon Company,Gregor Zoellig/Stadttheater Osnabruck,Rafaelle Giovanola- Cocoondance, Alexandra Waierstall and many others.She has choreographed more than 25 works, presenting them in festivals around the globe, while she is invited to teach at many different Institutions globally. She is currently living in Athens, and she is teaching Improvisation, Choreography and Repertoire Works at the School of the Greek National Opera and at the National School of Dance (KSOT).
