For the intermediate/advanced level, you must have either already participated in one of the previous musical theatre courses OR have previous dance & performance training/experience. *No previous singing training is necessary- in this class, EVERYONE is a singer (even if you don’t know it yet!)
Rebecca Hidalgo “Ondina” (she/her) is an actor, dancer, singer/ musician, choreographer, creative artist and activist, originally from Brooklyn, New York. She holds a B.F.A in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts (’15), and has been a company member of House of Yes, Cirque du Nuit/ Alterra Productions, and Tactile Movement Collective. She moved to Iceland in 2018, and has worked on multiple productions; including We Will Rock You (Háskólabíó 2019), Kardemommubærinn (Þjóðleikhúsið 2020), Feim (Verzlunarskóli Íslands 2021), Rómeó og Júlía (Þjóðleikhúsið 2021) and Umskiptingur (Þjóðleikhúsið-2022). She won a Gríman Award for “best choreography & stage movement” for her work on Rómeó og Júlía. In 2022, Rebecca guest-starred as a featured singer in artist Taylor Mac’s A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, during the Reykjavík stop of their European Tour. She has choreographed and performed in multiple TV, commercial & film productions in the US and Iceland. Rebecca has also worked closely with the American and Icelandic Drag scenes, including work for Sasha Velour (RuPaul’s Drag Race), and choreography for the largest annual Icelandic Drag show “Drag Djók.” She is the co-founder of the artist-activist collective “R.E.C Arts Reykjavík”.
