Teacher: Sally Cowdin
This workshop will guide you through Cabaret style choreography inspired by the likes of Crazy
Horse Paris, Moulin Rouge and a splash of Vegas showgirl while feeding off the technique of
Fosse Jazz!
You will have the opportunity to learn full new pieces of choreography encouraging you to find and
develop your own movement and the performer in you!
Wear something that makes you feel comfortable, sexy and ready to dance in!
Dance heels are welcome.
Level: Intermmediate/Advenced level
Sally Cowdin was born and raised in Kansas City Missouri, USA. She trained throughout America
as a classical ballet dancer at School of American Ballet and San Francisco ballet School among
others, finishing her Professional Training at Alonzo King Lines Ballet in San Francisco, CA. In
2012 she moved to Germany and worked with StaatsBallett Mainz, Stephan Delattre Dance
Company and Friedrichstadt-Palast, Berlin. It was here that she was introduced and encouraged
by Thierry Mugler to step into the world of showgirls and cabaret. In 2016 she began to freelance
throughout Europe as a dancer, actress and choreographer on both stage and screen. She was a lead dancer/co-choreographer and starred in
the role Larissa in “Babylon Berlin”. Other film works include; “Adventures of a
Mathematician” and “Akin” to name a few. In 2020 Sally received her Masters in Acting at the Institute of the Arts
Barcelona and has premiered multiple theatre pieces since including; “Release”, “Quasi un Canto
di Natale” and “LoveBoat Gl’Amouresque”. Sally is also a ballet teacher and has taught
for schools such as Art Factory International in Bologna, Italy and Institut de Danse du Val d’Aoste
and is currently teaching at Klassiski Listadansskoli and Listadansskoli Islands in Reykjavik. She is
also a teacher and research writer for the Swiss association ‘What Dance Can Do’, volunteering
and working to bring dance and movement to children in need around the world.
